Yummy Northwest seeks to provide accurate, up-to-date information about local food in your community in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington State.
Yummy Northwest was designed to bring the edible wonders of the Inland and Pacific Northwest to a broader audience. It began as a small, printed newsletter in March 2003, then went online in .pdf format, and now is being expanded to fill its own website.
Covering Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington State from an office currently located in Montana, Yummy Northwest aims to simply report on what's out there. If it's edible, we want to find it and tell you about it.
Yummy Northwest supports local farmers, farmers markets, creative entrepreneurs, and everyone who seeks to eat the best of what is locally produced.
We hope that wherever you live, you will enjoy reading about this region. And wherever you set your table, we urge you to seek out locally produced food and to eat with joy.
Lorinda resides in Eastern Washington, where she joyously combines her love of cooking and gardening. Baking is her passion, and licking the batter off the spoon after making a cake is her reward. When she's not in the kitchen, she's out in the garden pulling weeds and snacking on young peas. You can also enjoy Lorinda's blog, The Rowdy Baker.
Mary Frances lives in Ravensdale, Washington, and loves finding healthy ways to keep her castle clean. She believes that what we clean with can be just as important to our health as what we eat. When she's not cleaning, Mary Frances battles the blackberry vines in her yard. You can also enjoy Mary Frances's blog, All American Gal.
Mary Rose started Yummy Northwest in 2003 after going to the farmers market in Kent, Washington, and seeing peanuts that had been grown in Eastern Washington. She decided to find other interesting foods being produced in the Pacific Northwest. She now lives in the mountains of Montana, exploring farmers markets and edible delights of that region. You can also enjoy Mary Rose's blog, Yummy Montana.
